A reinforcement member is reliably pressed and bonded even to an inclined portion of a green tire. The reinforcement member (62) is formed on a transfer plate (34) and the formed reinforcement member (62) is then made to approach and face a position where a carcass ply (14) is applied. After that, a separation plate (48) is made to project from the transfer plate (34), which separates the reinforcement member (62) from the transfer plate (34) and makes the reinforcement member (62) approach the carcass ply (14). The separation plate (48) pivots and it inclines following the inclination of a carcass surface, a pressing surface (48A) of the separation plate (48) to which the reinforcement member (62) is applied becomes substantially parallel to the carcass surface, and the reinforcement member (62) is applied to the carcass surface. After that, a squeezing roller (54) of the separation plate (48) is moved toward a carcass end while being pressed against the carcass surface, and as a result, the reinforce member (62) is reliably pressed and bonded to the carcass surface.
