An energy converter for inducing membrane vibrations when subject to a fluid flow and converting the kinetic energy embedded in the fluid flow into another form of energy, such as electricity. The energy converter may include a supporting structure and multiple generator units. Each generator unit may include at least one flexible membrane, and at least one electrical conductor and at least one magnetic field generator configured to apply a magnetic field to the at least one electrical conductor, wherein one of the electrical conductor and the magnetic field generator may be attached to the membrane and configured to move with the membrane. Each membrane may vibrate when subject to the fluid flow and may have two ends supported by the supporting structure. The vibration of each membrane may create a relative movement between the conductor and a magnetic field generated by the magnetic field generator, which may induce a current. A power conditioning circuit is provided to condition the current.

L'invention concerne un convertisseur d'énergie servant à faire vibrer une membrane au contact d'un écoulement de liquide et à convertir l'énergie cinétique présente dans l'écoulement de liquide en un autre type d'énergie, tel que l'électricité. Le convertisseur d'énergie peut comprendre une structure de support et plusieurs unités génératrices. Chaque unité génératrice peut comprendre au moins une membrane souple, et au moins un conducteur électrique et au moins un générateur de champ magnétique configuré pour appliquer un champ magnétique sur les conducteurs électriques. Le conducteur électrique ou le générateur de champ magnétique peut être fixé à la membrane et être configuré pour se déplacer avec celle-ci. Chaque membrane peut vibrer au contact de l'écoulement de liquide et peut présenter deux extrémités soutenues par la structure de support. La vibration de chaque membrane peut créer, entre le conducteur et un champ magnétique créé par le générateur de champ magnétique, un mouvement relatif pouvant générer un courant. Un circuit de conditionnement d'énergie est mis en œuvre pour conditionner le courant.
