An image processing device (20) includes a component separating unit (22), a noise reduction processing unit (24), an edge information acquiring unit (26), a noise reduction processing parameter acquiring unit (28) and a component synthesizing unit (30). The component separating unit (22) separates an original image signal (I) into a plurality of components including a first component (U) of a framework component and a second component (V) that is obtained from a residue between the original image signal (I) and the first component (U). The edge information acquiring unit (26) obtains edge information (EI) of the first component (U). The noise reduction processing unit (24) reduces at least a fluctuating component of the second component (V). The noise reduction processing parameter acquiring unit (28) acquires a parameter (PA) of the noise reduction processing unit (24) in accordance with the edge information (EI) acquired from the edge information acquiring unit (26). The component synthesizing unit (30) synthesizes the first component (U) with other components than the first component (U) in which the fluctuating component is reduced by the noise reduction processing unit (24).
