According to an embodiment of the invention, a cooling system for a heat-generating device comprises a base plate, a fluid transfer chamber, a non-metallic wicking material, and a coolant. The base plate is in thermal communication with a heat generating structure and is operable to communicate thermal energy from the heat -generating device. The non-metallic wicking material and the coolant are disposed within the fluid transfer chamber. The non-metallic wicking material wicks a portion of the coolant towards a portion of the base plate communicating the thermal energy. The portion of the coolant absorb at least a portion of the thermal energy communicated from the heat -generating device. The coolant comprising at least an alcohol and at least one additional fluid.

Selon un mode de réalisation de l'invention, un système de refroidissement pour un dispositif générant de la chaleur comprend une plaque de base, une chambre de transfert de fluide, un matériau à effet de mèche non métallique et un fluide de refroidissement. La plaque de base est en communication thermique avec une structure générant de la chaleur et fonctionne de manière à communiquer l'énergie thermique à partir du dispositif générant de la chaleur. Le matériau à effet de mèche non métallique et le fluide de refroidissement sont disposés à l'intérieur de la chambre de transfert de fluide. Le matériau à effet de mèche non métallique dirige une partie du fluide de refroidissement vers une partie de la plaque de base communiquant l'énergie thermique. Cette partie du fluide de refroidissement absorbe au moins une partie de l'énergie thermique communiquée à partir du dispositif générant de la chaleur.
