(EN)A method for treating or preventing osteoporosis or a medical condition associated with a reduced or loss of bone mineral density and its related complications, in a mammalian subject is accomplished by intravenously administering to the mammalian subject, a therapeutically effective amount of a liposomal suspension of lipoprotein small unilamellar vesicles (SUVs) comprising predominantly phospholipids. When the liposomal suspension is administered to the subject, an increase of bone mineral density is observed over the time of observation.
(FR)La présente invention concerne un procédé de traitement ou de prévention de l'ostéoporose ou d'une condition médicale associée à une réduction ou perte de densité minérale osseuse et ses complications liées, chez un sujet mammifère, réalisé par administration intraveineuse au sujet mammifère, d'une quantité thérapeutiquement efficace d'une suspension liposomale de petites vésicules unilamellaires (SUV) lipoprotéiques comprenant principalement des phospholipides. Lorsque la suspension liposomale est administrée au sujet, une augmentation de la densité minérale osseuse est notée pendant la durée d'observation.
