(EN)The present invention relates to genes involved in trehalose biosynthesis and strains transformed with the genes, more precisely the genes involved in trehalose biosynthesis which are isolated from Streptomyces albus ATCC 21838, an Actinomyces, the strain transformed with a vector containing the gene and the recombinant trehalose synthase obtained from the culture of the transformed strain and a method for producing trehalose from the transformed strain. Trehalose of the present invention can be used as an excipient for the production of medicines to increase stability of such biological products as vaccine, hormone, blood and antibody, etc. Trehalose can also be used for health food to enhance resistance against various stresses, and additives for food and functional cosmetics.
(FR)L'invention concerne des gènes impliqués dans la biosynthèse de la tréhalose et des souches transformées par lesdits gènes. L'invention concerne plus précisément les gènes impliqués dans la biosynthèse de la tréhalose qui sont isolés de Streptomyces albus ATCC 21838, un Actinomyces, une souche transformée par un vecteur contenant le gène et la tréhalose synthase recombinante obtenue à partir d'une culture de la souche transformée, et un procédé pour produire la tréhalose à partir de la souche transformée. La tréhalose de l'invention peut s'utiliser comme excipient pour la production de médicaments destinés à augmenter la stabilité de produits biologiques tels que des vaccins, d'une hormone, du sang et d'un anticorps, etc.; dans des aliments diététiques pour améliorer la résistance contre des stress variés; et dans des additifs pour des produits alimentaires ou des cosmétiques fonctionnels.
