Intended is to provide a structural member, which can be shaped in a high sizing precision and which can be improved in bending shock characteristics. The structural member (1) is formed by working a plate member, and extends in a one-axis direction (in a Y-axis direction in Fig. 1). Moreover, the structural member (1) includes a pair of side walls (12 and 12) extending in parallel with the one-axis direction and confronting each other, and a connecting wall (13) extending in parallel with the one-axis direction and connecting the paired side walls. In the paired side walls (12 and 12), narrower portions (a) made narrower in the confronting spacing and wider portions (b) made wider in the spacing are formed alternately in the one-axis direction. At least one of the narrower portions (a) and the wider portions (b) exists in plurality, and the spacing is enlarged or reduced continuously in the one-axis direction.

本発明は、高い寸法精度で成形可能であり、且つ、曲げ衝撃特性を向上することが可能な構造用部材を提供することを目的とする。構造用部材1は、板状部材の加工により形成され、一軸方向(図1におけるY軸方向)に延びる。そして、前記一軸方向と平行に延びて互いに対向する一対の側壁12,12と、前記一軸方向と平行に延びて当該一対の側壁を連結する連結壁13と、を有する。前記一対の側壁12,12には、これらが互いに対向する間隔が狭い幅狭部aと当該間隔が広い幅広部bとが前記一軸方向において交互に形成されている。前記幅狭部aと前記幅広部bとの少なくとも一方が複数存在するとともに、前記間隔は前記一軸方向に連続して拡大又は縮小している。
