(EN)The invention relates to a new method for improving mechanical and tribological properties of thermoplastic technical polymers containing oxygen and/or halogen heteroatoms and of devices and accessories made therefrom by treating their surfaces with accelerated atom beams. According to the invention the surface treatment is performed with accelerated beams of electrostatically neutral particles obtained from noble gases, inert permanent gases or combinations thereof as work gases at an energy range between 0.5 keV and 50 keV and at a fluence range between 1012 cm-2 and 1018 cm-2 of the applied particles.
(FR)La présente invention concerne un nouveau procédé pour améliorer les propriétés mécaniques et tribologiques de polymères techniques thermoplastiques contenant des hétéroatomes d'oxygène et/ou d'halogène ainsi que des dispositifs et des accessoires fabriqués à partir de ceux-ci en traitant leurs surfaces avec des faisceaux d'atomes accélérés. Selon l'invention, le traitement de la surface est effectué avec des faisceaux accélérés de particules neutres électrostatiquement obtenues à partir de gaz nobles, de gaz permanents inertes ou des combinaisons de ceux-ci et utilisés comme gaz de travail dans une plage énergétique comprise entre 0,5 keV et 50 keV et une plage de fluence comprise entre 1012 cm-2 et 1018 cm-2 des particules appliquées.
