Abstract

The present invention concerns multilayer films comprising a plurality of layers, at least some of the layers comprise (i) cross-linked chitosan, alginate, chondroitin sulfate, or hyaluronic acid and (ii) particles or void spaces; wherein the layers are 20-260 nm in thickness. Also disclosed are multilayer films comprising at least two of: a layer comprising a first polymer; a layer comprising a second polymer; a layer comprising particles, wherein said particles comprise ceramic material, metallic species, or both; and, a layer comprising a combination of said first polymer and said particles; wherein said multilayer film is capable of displaying structural color. Also provided are methods for making and using the inventive multilayer films and compositions comprising the multilayer films.

L'invention porte sur des films multi-couches dont certaines couches au moins comprennent: (i) du chitosan réticulé, de l'alginate, du sulfate de chondroïtine, ou de l'acide hyaluronique, et (ii) des particules ou des espaces vides, les couches ayant entre 20 et 260 nm d'épaisseur. L'invention porte également sur des films multi-couches comprenant au moins deux des couches suivantes: une couche d'un premier polymère; une couche d'un deuxième polymère; une couche de particules céramiques, métalliques ou les deux; et une couche faite d'une combinaison desdits polymères et desdites particules. De tels films multi-couches peuvent présenter une couleur structurelle. L'invention porte également sur des méthodes de fabrication et d'utilisation de ces films multi-couches et sur des compositions les incluant.
