Abstract
(EN)
A mirror assembly with a reflecting surface is used to redirect a power beam through free space. The mirror assembly is actuated on at least one axis, and preferably at least two axes, so that it can move through many angles based on control signals from the power beaming system. The mirror assembly receives an optical transfer of power through free space from a power beam transmitter. Thus, the movement of the mirror is powered from the power beam itself. Two or more of these mirrors can be used in a power beaming system, thus creating many different beam paths through a volume of free space.

L'invention porte sur un miroir présentant une surface réfléchissante servant à rediriger un faisceau de transfert d'énergie dans l'espace. Ledit miroir est actionné sur au moins un axe et de préférence sur au moins deux axes, pour qu'il puisse se déplacer de plusieurs angles selon les signaux de commande du dispositif de production du faisceau de transfert d'énergie reçus. Le miroir reçoit à travers l'espace un transfert optique d'énergie provenant de l'émetteur du faisceau. Le mouvement du miroir est ainsi alimenté en énergie par le faisceau lui-même. On peut utiliser deux ou plus de deux de ces miroirs dans un tel système pour créer plusieurs trajectoires de faisceaux dans l'espace.
