Methods for creating apertures in a layer on a back side of a substrate that includes a microlens array on a front side thereof include curving the substrate into a cylindrical surface segment that defines an axis, so that the microlens array on the front side of the substrate faces the axis. A pulsed laser beam is scanned from the axis circumferentially along the cylindrical surface segment, to pass through the microlens array on the front side of the substrate and into the layer on the back side of the substrate to create the apertures, while simultaneously translating the substrate and/or the scanned pulsed laser beam axially relative to one another. Related apparatus and microlens array products are also disclosed.

L'invention porte sur un procédé qui permet de créer des ouvertures dans une couche située sur la face arrière d'un substrat comprenant un réseau de microlentilles sur sa face avant. Le procédé de l'invention consiste à incurver le substrat en un segment de surface cylindrique définissant un axe, de manière que le réseau de microlentilles situé sur la face avant du substrat se trouve en face de l'axe. On balaie ensuite le segment de surface cylindrique circonférentiellement depuis l'axe avec un faisceau laser pulsé, qui passe à travers le réseau de microlentilles situé sur la face avant du substrat jusque dans la couche située sur la face arrière du substrat afin de créer les ouvertures, tout en soumettant simultanément à une translation axiale relative le substrat et/ou le faisceau laser pulsé. L'invention concerne également un appareil connexe et des produits à réseaux de microlentilles.
