Abstract

A method is provided for identifying a subject who has an increased risk for developing a cardiovascular disease. The method can include detecting an alteration in a portion of a LRP8 gene. The alternation can be located in at least one of exon 9, exon 17, exon 19, or intron 6 of the LRP8 gene. The presence of the alteration can be correlated with an increased risk for developing the cardiovascular disease.

L'invention porte sur un procédé qui permet d'identifier un sujet présentant un risque augmenté de développer une maladie cardiovasculaire. Le procédé de l'invention peut consister à détecter une altération dans une partie d'un gène LRP8. L'altération peut être située dans l'exon 9 et/ou l'exon 17 et/ou l'exon 19 et/ou l'intron 6 du gène LRP8. La présence de l'altération peut être corrélée à un risque augmenté de développement d'une maladie cardiovasculaire.
