A return coupon holder (100) is described for holding a return coupon (105) issued in a store in conjunction with a customer's merchandise return transaction. The return coupon holder (100) is preferably sized large enough to discourage the customer from stowing the coupon away, such as in a handbag. Additionally, holders may be of different types that visually or electronically convey information, such as non-textual information, about a category associated with the customer's return transaction. Thus, salespersons may accordingly provide appropriate customer service to the customer. The holder categories may indicate an approximate dollar value of the return transaction, a type of merchandise returned, a return payment method, an assessment of the profitability of the customer, an assessment of the risk of fraud associated with the return transaction, and the like. A computer decision system (153) may select holder type. Some embodiments of the coupon holder are fitted with a device (106) that allow tracing of the customer's movements while still in the store.

L'invention concerne un support pour coupon de retour (100) permettant de tenir un coupon de retour (105) émis dans un magasin en relation à une transaction de retour de marchandise effectuée par un client. Le support pour coupon de retour (100) présente, de préférence, une dimension suffisamment grande afin de décourager le client de ranger le coupon, comme par exemple dans un sac à main. En outre, les supports peuvent être de différents types qui acheminent des informations, visuellement ou électroniquement, telles que des informations non textuelles, concernant une catégorie associée à la transaction de retour du client. Ainsi, un vendeur peut fournir, en conséquence, un service approprié à la clientèle. Les catégories du support peuvent indiquer un valeur monétaire approximative de la transaction de retour, un type de marchandise rendue, une méthode de paiement de retour, une évaluation de la profitabilité du client, une évaluation du risque de fraude associé à la transaction de retour, et ainsi de suite.
