A system (100) and method for monitoring performance of an asynchronous network may include communicating a first network performance data packet (202) including a first indicia over an asynchronous network from a first network node to a second network node. A second network performance data packet (202) including a second indicia may be communicated from the first network node to the second network node. At least one communications data packet (204) may be communicated from the first network node to the second network node between communicating the first and second network performance data packets. At least one performance manager counter (302) at the second network node may be incremented in response to receiving each communications data packet between the first and second network performance data packets (708).

L'invention concerne un système et un procédé pour surveiller les performances d'un réseau asynchrone pouvant comprendre la communication d'un premier paquet de données de performance de réseau comprenant un premier indice sur un réseau asynchrone d'un premier nœud de réseau à un second nœud de réseau. Un second paquet de données de performance de réseau comprenant un second indice peut être communiqué du premier nœud de réseau au second nœud de réseau. Au moins un paquet de données de communication peut être communiqué du premier nœud de réseau au second nœud de réseau entre la communication des premier et second paquets de données de performance de réseau. Au moins un compteur de gestionnaire de performance au niveau du second nœud de réseau peut être incrémenté en réponse à la réception de chaque paquet de données de communication entre les premier et second paquets de données de performance de réseau.
