A membrane electrode assembly for fuel cell that irrespectively of the front or backside of polymeric electrolyte membrane, exhibits high output performance, and that exhibits high junction at an interface between polymeric electrolyte membrane and electrode even under low humidification condition or high temperature condition, or in high current density region, realizing appropriate water management and excellent output characteristics. Further, there is provided a fuel cell including the above assembly. The membrane electrode assembly for fuel cell and fuel cell is one including a polymeric electrolyte membrane containing at least one type of proton conductive polymer; a fuel electrode disposed on one major surface of the polymeric electrolyte membrane; and an oxidizer electrode disposed on the other major surface of the polymeric electrolyte membrane, characterized in that in the use of water contact angle for specifying the hydrophilicity of each surface of the polymeric electrolyte membrane, the difference between the water contact angle on the one major surface of the polymeric electrolyte membrane and that on the other major surface thereof is 30° or less. The provided fuel cell is one having the above assembly.

L'ensemble d'électrode à membrane pour une pile à combustible selon l'invention présente, sans tenir compte de la partie avant et arrière de la membrane électrolytique polymère, une performance de sortie élevée et une jonction élevée au niveau d'une interface entre la membrane électrolytique polymère et l'électrode y compris dans une condition de faible humidification ou dans une condition de haute température, ou dans une région à densité de courant élevée, réalisant une gestion de l'eau appropriée et une excellente caractéristique de sortie. En outre, l'invention concerne une pile à combustible incluant l'ensemble mentionné ci-dessus. L'ensemble d'électrode à membrane pour une pile à combustible et la pile à combustible constituent un ensemble incluant une membrane électrolytique polymère contenant au moins un type de polymère conducteur de protons ; une électrode à combustible disposée sur la principale surface de la membrane électrolytique polymère ; et une électrode d'oxydant disposée sur l'autre principale surface de la membrane électrolytique polymère. Cet ensemble est caractérisé par l'utilisation de l'angle de contact d'eau pour spécifier le caractère hydrophile de chaque surface de la membrane électrolytique polymère, la différence entre l'angle de contact d'eau sur une principale surface de la membrane électrolytique polymère et celui sur l'autre principale surface de celle-ci étant de 30° ou moins. La pile à combustible fournie est dotée de l'ensemble mentionné ci-dessus.

 高分子電解質膜の表裏に関係なく高い出力特性を示し、また低加湿条件や、高温条件、高電流密度域での高分子電解質膜-電極界面の接合性が高く、水マネジメントが良好で優れた出力特性を示す燃料電池用膜・電極接合体及びこれを備える燃料電池を提供する。  少なくとも1種のプロトン伝導性高分子を含む高分子電解質膜と、該高分子電解質膜の一方の面に配設された燃料極と、該高分子電解質膜の他方の面に配設された酸化剤極とを備える燃料電池用膜・電極接合体であって、前記高分子電解質膜の表面の親水性を水接触角で特定して、該高分子電解質膜の一方の面の水接触角と他方の面の水接触角との差が30°以下であることを特徴とする燃料電池用膜・電極接合体及びこれを備える燃料電池である。
