A portable dual band receiver (D), intended for equipping a mobile equipment, comprises a first antenna (ANl), a second antenna (AN2), a two-states switching means (SW) connected to the first (ANl) and second (AN2) antennas and arranged to deliver either first signals comprised into a first band when it is set into a first state or second signals comprised into a second band when it is set into a second state, at least one low noise amplifier (Al, A2) arranged to amplify the signals delivered by the switching means (SW), a processing means (PM) arranged to process the signals outputted by the low noise amplifier(s) (A1,A2) either in a first mode or in a second mode, and a control means (CM) arranged, when the processing means (PM) works in the second mode, to determine which of the first (ANl) and second (AN2) antennas induces the best reception quality into the processing means (PM), and to set the switching means (SW) in the state which allows it to deliver the signals received by the antenna that it has determined.

La présente invention concerne un récepteur à double bande portable (D), conçu pour équiper un équipement mobile. Le récepteur comprend : une première antenne (AN1), une seconde antenne (AN2), des moyens de commutation à deux états (SW) connectés à la première (An1) et à la seconde (AN2) antennes et disposés pour délivrer soit des premiers signaux compris dans une première bande quand elle est réglée dans un premier état ou des seconds signaux compris dans une seconde bande quand elle est réglée dans un second état. Il comprend également au moins un amplificateur à faible bruit (A1, A2) disposé pour amplifier les signaux distribués par les moyens de commutation (SW), des moyens de traitement (PM) disposés pour traiter les signaux extraits par le ou les amplificateurs à faible bruit (A1, A2) dans un premier ou second mode, et des moyens de commande (CM) disposés, quand les moyens de traitement (PM) fonctionnent dans le second mode, de manière à déterminer laquelle parmi la première (AN1) et la seconde antennes (AN2) provoque la meilleure qualité de réception dans les moyens de traitement (PM), et en vue de régler les moyens de commutation (SM) dans un état qui leur permettent de délivrer les signaux reçus par l'antenne qu'ils ont déterminée.
