The present invention relates to a novel group of copolymers comprising a soluble carbohydrate polymer (SCP), which typically is a non-starch carbohydrate, and a macromolecule covalently attached to the SCP. The macromolecule may e.g. be a hydrophobic copolymer, a polyelectrolyte polymer or a biodegradable polymer. The present invention furthermore relates to a method of preparing the copolymer, products comprising the copolymer, and to methods of preparing the products comprising the copolymer. The products comprising a copolymer are for example a polymeric carbohydrate material (PCM) modified by attachment of a copolymer, and a composite material comprising the modified PCM.

La présente invention concerne un nouveau groupe de copolymères comprenant un polymère glucidique soluble (SCP), typiquement un hydrate de carbone qui n'est pas de l'amidon, et une macromolécule liée au SCP par liaison covalente. La macromolécule peut être par exemple un copolymère hydrophobe, un polymère polyélectrolytique ou un polymère biodégradable. La présente invention concerne en outre un procédé de préparation du copolymère, des produits comprenant ledit copolymère et des procédés permettant de préparer lesdits produits comprenant ledit polymère. Ces produits sont par exemple un matériau polymère glucidique (PCM) modifié par fixation d'un copolymère, et un matériau composite comprenant le PCM modifié.
