There is provided a process for forming a contained second layer over a first layer, including the steps: forming the first layer having a first surface energy; forming an intermediate layer over and in direct contact with the first layer, said intermediate layer having a second surface energy which is lower than the first surface energy; removing selected portions of the intermediate layer to form a pattern comprising uncovered areas of the first layer and covered areas of the first layer; and forming a contained second layer over the uncovered areas of the first layer. There is also provided an organic electronic device made by the process.

L'invention concerne un procédé pour fabriquer une seconde couche enveloppée sur une première couche, incluant les étapes consistant à : former une première couche ayant une première énergie de surface ; former une couche intermédiaire sur la première couche et en contact direct avec celle-ci, ladite couche intermédiaire ayant une seconde énergie de surface qui est inférieure à la première énergie de surface ; enlever des parties choisies de la couche intermédiaire pour former un motif comprenant des régions découvertes de la première couche et des régions couvertes de la première couche ; et former une seconde couche enveloppée sur les régions découvertes de la première couche. L'invention concerne également un dispositif électronique organique fabriqué par ce procédé.
