A particle beam system (100) for treating a patient at a treatment station (140), which includes a plurality of different particle beam nozzles (130A, 130B, 130C, 130D, 130E) and a transport system (150) for automatically moving one of the plurality of different particle beam nozzles (130A, 130B, 130C, 130D, 130E) from a storage location (150) to one of a plurality of particle beam paths (120A, 120B, 120C, 120D, 120E) in which at least two particle beam paths (120A, 120B) make an angle less or greater than 90 degrees or one particle beam path (120A) on a plane that is different from other plane formed by other two particle beam paths (120B, 120C).

L'invention concerne un système de manipulation amélioré d'un faisceau de particules qui inclut, en option, des buses de faisceau de particules interchangeables. Ces buses de faisceau de particules peuvent être amenées automatiquement depuis un emplacement de rangement vers le trajet d'un faisceau de particules ou entre trajets de faisceau de particules dans des applications médicales. On peut réaliser ce déplacement par un moyen de transport, un portique, un système de rail, ou autre. Le système de traitement amélioré des faisceaux de particules inclut également en option plus de deux trajets de faisceaux de particules. Ces trajets alternatifs de faisceaux de particules peuvent être dirigés vers un patient depuis une pluralité d'angles différents et dans des plans différents.
