Abstract

A method and apparatus for applying energy to a target path on a tissue surface includes moving a proximal end of an energy source in a first direction by a first distance. During a first portion of the first distance, the source is in a non- energized mode. During a second portion of the first distance, the source in an energized mode. The proximal end is moved in a second direction along the path opposite the first direction and by a distance less than the first distance. During a first portion of the second direction, the source in a non-energized mode. During a second portion of the second direction, the source in an energized mode. The method compensates for a hysteresis between movement of a distal tip of the energy source and the proximal end.

L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil pour appliquer de l'énergie sur un parcours cible d'une surface de tissu. Le procédé comprend l'étape qui consiste à déplacer l'extrémité proximale d'une source d'énergie sur une première distance dans une première direction. Sur une première partie de la première distance, la source est en mode non alimenté en énergie. Sur une deuxième partie de la première distance, la source est en mode alimenté en énergie. L'extrémité proximale est déplacée le long du parcours dans une deuxième direction opposée à la première direction et sur une distance inférieure à la première distance. Sur une première partie de la deuxième direction, la source est en mode non alimenté en énergie. Sur une deuxième partie de la deuxième direction, la source est en mode alimenté en énergie. Le procédé compense l'hystérèse entre le déplacement de la pointe distale de la source d'énergie et l'extrémité proximale.
