CLAIMS

1. Composite panel which comprises a layer of foamed material having a density of less than 100 kg/m3 which layer is sandwiched between 2 layers of fiber
reinforced material characterized in that the fiber reinforced material is fiber reinforced polyisocyanurate material.

2. Panel according to claim 1 wherein the foamed material has a density of 10-50 kg/m3.

3. Panel according to claims 1-2 wherein the thickness of the foamed material is greater than the thickness of the 2 layers of fiber reinforced polyisocyanurate material together.

4. Panel according to claims 1-3, wherein the foamed material is a polyurethane foam, the fiber is a fiber matt and the polyisocyanurate has been made by reacting a polyisocyanate and a polyol in the presence of a trimerization catalyst.

5. Panel according to claims 1 -4 wherein the foamed material is attached to the 2 layers of reinforced polyisocyanurate material.

6. Panel according to claims 1-5 wherein the foamed material is directly attached to the 2 layers of reinforced polyisocyanurate material.

7. Process for making a panel according to claims 1 -6 comprising allowing a
composition comprising a polyisocyanate and a polyol to react at elevated
temperature in a mould and in the presence of a trimerization catalyst, wherein this composition is in close contact with 2 layers of fiber between which a layer of foamed material is sandwiched.

8. Process for preparing a panel according to claim 7 wherein the following steps are conducted :

1. an external mould release agent is applied onto at least those surfaces of the mould which will be in contact with the ingredients used for preparing the panel;
2. the ingredients to be used for preparing the panel are put into the mould;

3. the ingredients are allowed to react and to form the panel;
4. the panel so formed is removed from the mould and
5. steps 2, 3 and 4 are repeated at least 10 times without repeating step 1.
