The utilization of a specific load transfer device for the purpose of allowing for reliable connection and adhesion of composite wood boards during edifice manufacture therewith is provided. Such a device is configured for containment within slots cut into the peripheral edges of such wood boards and cut into a shape therein that is complementary to that of the device itself. In such a manner, the device, when introduced within the properly shaped slot, permits separation of adjacent wood boards that are sequentially applied to the frame of the target edifice, as well as, ultimately, sufficient load bearing strength for the overall construction (such as a roof) within which such connected wood boards are utilized. The separation of wood boards thus permits proper sealing there between (with tape, sealant, or other like material) as well as proper distance for shrinking or swelling (due to moisture/ temperature variations) to be taken into account during the lifetime of the edification (thereby permitting expansion as needed). The ability to impart increased load bearing strength thus allows for an increase in construction materials (in number and in weight) to be carried and kept on such a structure during construction as well. The method of manufacture of an edifice utilizing such load transfer devices between wood boards is also encompassed within this invention.

L'invention concerne l'utilisation d'un dispositif de transfert de charge spécifique qui permet une connexion et une adhérence fiables de panneaux de bois composites lors de la construction avec ces panneaux. Ce dispositif est conçu pour le confinement dans des fentes taillées dans les bords périphériques de ces panneaux de bois et dont la forme est complémentaire de celle du dispositif. Ainsi, introduit dans la fente de forme appropriée, ledit dispositif permet de séparer des panneaux de bois contigus séquentiellement appliqués sur le cadre de l'édifice cible et, enfin de compte, une résistance à la charge suffisante pour la construction en général (par exemple un toit) faisant appel à ces panneaux de bois reliés. La séparation des panneaux de bois permet donc une étanchéité appropriée entre ces panneaux (moyennant bande, mastic ou autre matériau analogue), ainsi qu'une distance appropriée pour le retrait ou le gonflement (du fait de l'humidité/de variations de température) dont on doit tenir compte pendant la durée utile du bâtiment (ce qui permet l'expansion au besoin). L'aptitude de conférer une résistance à la charge accrue autorise donc également un accroissement des matériaux de construction (en nombre et en poids) à porter et à conserver sur une telle structure durant la construction. L'invention concerne enfin le procédé de construction d'un édifice faisant appel à de tels dispositifs de transfert de charge entre les panneaux de bois.
