Claims

1. A metal sheet (15) ventilation/smoke exhaust duct section (10) being a part of a metal sheet ventilation/smoke exhaust duct, said metal sheets (15) being covered on the outside by a heat insulating material (20) and said duct section (10) including elongated stiffening bar members (30) located on the outside of the duct and attached to said metal sheets (15), characterised in said bar members (30) being located at a distance from said metal sheets (15), said bar members (30) being attached to said metal sheets (15) at discrete locations along the length of the bar members (30).

2. A metal sheet ventilation/smoke exhaust duct section according to claim 1 , said bar members (30) extending transversely or essentially transversally to the axial extension (A) of said duct section (10).
3. A metal sheet ventilation/smoke exhaust duct section according to claim 1 or 2, wherein said bar members (30) are metal bar members.
4. A metal sheet ventilation/smoke exhaust duct section according to any of the preceding claims, said duct section (10) including at least two of said bar members (30) spaced apart along the axial extension (A) of said duct.
5. A metal sheet ventilation/smoke exhaust duct section according to any of the preceding claims wherein said bar members (30) are rigidly connected at the ends thereof to form a frame extending peripherally around said duct section (10).
6. A metal sheet ventilation/smoke exhaust duct section according to any of the preceding claims, said bar members (30) being received within an elongated groove (22) formed in said insulating material (20).
7. A metal sheet ventilation/smoke exhaust duct section according to any of the preceding claims wherein said bar members (30) are supported by said insulating material (20).

8. A metal sheet ventilation/smoke exhaust duct section according to any of the preceding claims, said insulating material (20) having a thickness of 35mm-200mm, preferably 45mm-100mm.
9. A metal sheet ventilation/smoke exhaust duct section according to the preceding claim, said insulating material (20) being a mineral wool product having a density of 50 kg/m3-350 kg/m3, preferably 100 kg/m3-200 kg/m3.
10. A metal sheet ventilation/smoke exhaust duct section according to any of the preceding claims, said attachment being by separate connecting means (40), said connecting means (40) preferably extending through said insulating material (20).
11. A metal sheet ventilation/smoke exhaust duct section according to the preceding claim, said connecting means (40) being metal screws engaging said bar members (30) at discrete locations along the length of said bar members (30).
12. A metal sheet ventilation/smoke exhaust duct section according to any of the preceding claims, said discrete locations being spaced apart by 200mm-700mm.
13. A metal sheet ventilation/smoke exhaust duct section according to the preceding claim, said discrete locations being spaced apart by 250mm- 500mm.
14. A metal sheet ventilation/smoke exhaust duct section according to any of the preceding claims, said bar members (30) having a U-shaped cross-section with the bottom of said U being located farthest from the duct. 15. A metal sheet ventilation/smoke exhaust duct section according to any of the preceding claims, said bar members (30) having a T-shaped cross-section with the head of said T being located farthest from said duct . 16. A metal sheet ventilation/smoke exhaust duct section according to any of the preceding claims, said insulating material (20) extending be-tween said metal sheet (15) and said stiffening bar members (30).

17. A method of making a metal sheet (15) ventilation/smoke exhaust duct section (10) being a part of a metal sheet ventilation/smoke exhaust duct, said metal sheets (15) being covered on the outside by a heat insulating material (20), said ventilation/smoke exhaust duct section (10) in-eluding elongated stiffening bar members (30) located on the outside of the duct and attached to said metal sheets (15), said bar members (30) extending transversely or essentially transversally to the axial extension of said duct section (10), said method including the steps of locating said bar members (30) at a distance from said metal sheets (15) and applying connecting means (40) to attach said bar members (30) to said metal sheets (15) at discrete locations while maintaining said bar members (30) with a spacing from said metal sheets (15).
18. A method according to the preceding claim comprising locating at least two of said bar members (15) spaced apart along the axial extension (A) of said duct section (10).
19. A method according to claim 17 or 18 wherein said bar members (30) are rigidly connected at the ends thereof to form a frame extending peripherally around said duct metal sheets (15).
20. A method according to any of claims 17-19, comprising forming elongated grooves (22) in said insulating material (20) and locating one of said bar members (30) within a corresponding one of said grooves (22).
21. A method according to any of claims 17-20, said connecting means (40) being metal screws engaging said bar members (30) and said duct metal sheets (15).
22. A method according to any of claims 17-21 , said metal screws

(40) being applied at a mutual spacing of 200mm-700mm, preferably 250mm-500mm.
23. A method according to any of claims 17-22, said bar members

(30) having a U-shaped cross-section with the bottom of said U being located farthest from said duct metal sheets (15).

24. A method according to any of claims 17-22, said bar members

(30) having a T-shaped cross-section with the head of said T being located farthest from said duct metal sheets (15).
