Abstract:
(EN) A multi-zone capacitive force sensing apparatus/method is disclosed. In one embodiment, an apparatus includes one or more capacitors each having an upper conductive surface and a lower conductive surface substantially parallel to the upper conductive surface, a housing with a top plate and a bottom plate to encompass the capacitors, and a sensor in the housing to generate a measurement based on a change in a distance between the upper conductive surface and the lower conductive surface of each of the capacitors when a contact zone of the top plate associated with the each of the plurality of capacitors is deflected by a force applied on the contact zone. The apparatus may also include a comparison module associated with the sensor to generate a signal indicating unevenness of a force applied on the top plate when there is any significant difference between measurements of the capacitors.
(FR) L'invention concerne un appareil/un procédé de détection de force capacitif multizone. Dans un mode de réalisation, un appareil comporte un ou plusieurs condensateurs ayant chacun une surface conductrice supérieure et une surface conductrice inférieure sensiblement parallèle à la surface conductrice supérieure, un logement avec une plaque supérieure et une plaque inférieure pour englober les condensateurs, et un capteur dans le logement pour générer une mesure sur la base d'un changement de distance entre la surface conductrice supérieure et la surface conductrice inférieure de chacun des condensateurs lorsqu'une zone de contact de la plaque supérieure associée à chaque condensateur de la pluralité de condensateurs est déviée par une force appliquée sur la zone de contact. L'appareil peut également comporter un module de comparaison associé au capteur pour générer un signal indiquant l'irrégularité d'une force appliquée sur la plaque supérieure lorsqu'une différence significative quelconque existe entre les mesures des condensateurs.
