(EN)The present invention relates to a system for sensing a disturbance in a sensing region along an optical path. The sensing system includes: a source of optical radiation; an upstream junction for channelling light along a first path and along a second path, the first and second paths each extending through the sensing region in an acoustically coupled relationship, such that, in use, a disturbance experienced at one of the first and second paths is experienced at the other of the first and second paths; and, a downstream junction for combining light from the first path with light from the second path so as to provide an interferometric signal from which the presence of a disturbance can be inferred.
(FR)L'invention concerne un système destiné à détecter une perturbation dans une zone de détection le long d'un trajet optique. Ce système de détection comprend: une source de rayonnement optique; un jonction amont destiné à canaliser la lumière le long d'un premier et d'un second trajet, ces premier et second trajets s'étendant chacun à travers une zone de détection en relation de couplage acoustique, de sorte qu'en fonctionnement, une perturbation soit produite au niveau d'un des premier et second trajets; et, une jonction avale destinée à combiner la lumière du premier trajet avec celle du second de manière à fournir un signal interférométrique à partir duquel la présence d'une perturbation peut être inférée.
