(EN)A group of genes including GhCIR1 from cotton (Gossypium hirsutum), and AtCIR1 and AtCIR2 from Arabidopsis thaliana promote shoot regeneration in plants even in the absence of cytokinin. In the presence of cytokinin, the genes significantly improve transformation efficiency. The genes can be used as an enhancer as well as a selectable marker of transformation in plants. The proteins encoded by the novel genes have a homeodomain (HD) at the N-terminus and a highly divergent domain at the C-terminus. The proteins share a common structural motif.
(FR)Un groupe de gènes contenant GhCIR1 issu du coton (Gossypium hirsutum), et AtCIR1 et AtCIR2 issus de Arabidopsis thaliana favorisent la régénération des pousses de plantes y compris en l'absence de cytokinine. En présence de cytokinine, les gènes améliorent considérablement l'efficacité de transformation des plantes. Les gènes peuvent être utilisés en tant que promoteur ainsi qu'en tant que marqueur sélectionnable de transformation des plantes. Les protéines codées par les nouveaux gènes possèdent un homéodomaine (HD) au niveau de son extrémité N terminale et un domaine très divergent au niveau de son extrémité C terminale.
