A method and device for activating multimedia broadcast/multicast service, the said method includes, the service GPRS supporting node transfers a registration request message of multimedia broadcast/multicast service to the gateway GPRS supporting node, in order to request to establish a bearing relationship of multimedia broadcast/multicast service; the said gateway GPRS supporting node returns a supporting ability message required by multimedia broadcast/multicast service bearing to the service GPRS supporting node. The said device comprises a registration request unit and a registration response unit. The present invention is used to solve the problem that in current MBMS activation process, SGSN can't compare the supporting ability required by MBMS bearing with the MBMS supporting ability of UE.

L'invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif d'activation d'un service de diffusion/multidiffusion multimédia (MBMS), où le noeud de prise en charge du service général de radiocommunication par paquets (GPRS) transfère un message de demande d'enregistrement du service MBMS au noeud de prise en charge du GPRS passerelle afin d'établir un rapport de prise en charge du service MBMS. Ce noeud de prise en charge du GPRS passerelle renvoie un message de capacité de prise en charge demandé par le MBMS reconnaissant le noeud de prise en charge du GPRS. Le dispositif comprend une unité de demande d'enregistrement et une unité de réponse à l'enregistrement. L'invention permet de résoudre le problème lié à l'activation courante du MBMS, où le noeud de prise en charge de GPRS (SGSN) ne peut comparer la capacité de prise en charge requise par le MBMS avec la capacité de prise en charge requise par le MBMS de l'équipement utilisateur (UE).
