Abstract:
A wireless system wherein a transmitting station having a plurality of antennas performs a scheduling operation and a transmission to a plurality of receiving stations. At the transmitting station, information of reception qualities estimated from feedback information received from the plurality of receiving stations is acquired, and a transmission scheme is decided, based on the acquired information of reception qualities, as to whether to perform a beam forming transmission in which weighing operations are performed for the respective ones of the plurality of antennas and data of the same stream are transmitted or perform a MIMO multiplexing transmission in which data of different streams from the respective ones of the plurality of antennas are transmitted. Then, information for identifying the decided transmission scheme is added to a scheduler management channel for transmission. At each of the plurality of receiving stations, a decoded algorithm is determined, from the identification information of the scheduler management channel, as to whether a received signal is the signal of the beam forming transmission or the signal of MIMO multiplexing transmission. According to the determined decoded algorithm, in the case of the signal of MIMO multiplexing transmission, a channel estimation value estimated from a pilot channel is used to determine a modulation scheme from the information of scheduler management channel for demodulation. In the case of signal of the beam forming transmission, an optimum reception weighting operation is performed based on the weighting information added to the scheduler management channel, thereby combining the signals of the plurality of antennas and performing a channel compensation.
