(EN)Reduction process and relative plant for the production of metallic iron by means of the direct reduction of iron ore, in which a reduction shaft is connected to a source of reducing gas obtained from the gasification of coal. The process advantageously comprises a step in which a portion or all of the synthesis gas entering the plant circuit is processed to separate the methane from the rest of the components of said synthesis gas. The advantageous management of the extracted methane enables the entire reduction process to be optimized, making the efficiency of the process independent of the methane content in the original synthesis gas and making it possible to control the carbon content of the product more accurately and more easily.
(FR)L'invention concerne un process de réduction et une installation associée pour la production de fer métallique par réduction directe de minerai de fer, dans lesquels une cuve de réduction est reliée à une source de gaz réducteur obtenu à partir de la gazéification de charbon. Avantageusement, le process comporte une étape dans laquelle une partie ou la totalité du gaz de synthèse entrant dans le circuit de l'installation est traitée pour séparer le méthane du reste des composants dudit gaz de synthèse. La gestion avantageuse du méthane extrait permet d'optimiser tout le process de réduction, rendant le rendement du process indépendant de la teneur en méthane du gaz de synthèse d'origine et permettant de contrôler la teneur en carbone du produit plus précisément et plus facilement.
