An apparatus for injection molding wherein melt is conveyed to a gate (40) in fluid communication with at least one mold cavity (16) comprises a nozzle (20) for conveying melt, the nozzle having an inlet (28) for admitting melt, at least one outlet (30) for directing melt to mold cavities and received within a recess of the gate, a nozzle body having a passage (32) therethrough for conveying melt from the inlet to the outlet, and at least one split ring seal (36) received in a groove (38) in the exterior of the nozzle body (34) so as to be displaceable relative to the associated groove, the split ring seal having an outside perimeter for contacting the surface of the recess (42) of a gate, the split ring seals maintaining separation of the periphery of the nozzle body from the surface of the recess with the outlet positioned within the recess. Each split ring seal advantageously comprises overlapping end segments abuttingly engaged with the outlet positioned within the recess.

L'invention concerne un appareil de moulage par injection où la matière fondue est acheminée jusqu'à une tête (40) d'injection en communication fluidique avec au moins une cavité (16) de moule, ledit appareil comportant une buse (20) destinée à acheminer la matière fondue, la buse étant dotée d'une entrée (28) servant à admettre la matière fondue, d'au moins une sortie (30) servant à diriger la matière fondue vers les cavités de moule et logée dans un évidement de la tête d'injection, un corps de buse muni d'un passage (32) le traversant afin d'acheminer la matière fondue de l'entrée à la sortie, et au moins un joint (36) à bague fractionnée logé dans une gorge (38) ménagée dans l'extérieur du corps (34) de buse de façon à pouvoir être déplacé par rapport à la gorge associée, le joint à bague fractionnée présentant un périmètre extérieur afin d'entrer en contact avec la surface de l'évidement (42) de la tête d'injection, les joints à bague fractionnée maintenant une séparation de la périphérie du corps de buse par rapport à la surface de l'évidement et la sortie étant positionnée à l'intérieur de l'évidement. Chaque joint à bague fractionnée comporte avantageusement des segments d'extrémité se recouvrant et prenant appui sur la sortie positionnée à l'intérieur de l'évidement.
