The invention relates to an optical drive (10) and a method for determining a reading and/or writing position of an optical drive (10). The optical drive (10) in accordance with the invention comprises control means (12) and at least three PLL units (20, 22, 24), wherein the control means (12) are adapted to control the three PLL units (20, 22, 24) to try to lock on to three different frequencies characteristic for an optical disc (26). The method in accordance with the invention comprises the step of controlling at least three PLL units (20, 22, 24) to try to lock on to three different frequencies characteristic for an optical disc (26). If the optical disc (26) is a Blue Ray Disc, the three different frequencies can be the HFM frequency, the wobble frequency, and the expected HF frequency.

L’invention concerne un lecteur optique (10) et un procédé servant à déterminer une position de lecture et/ou d'écriture d'un lecteur optique (10). Le lecteur optique (10) selon l'invention comprend un moyen de commande (12) et au moins trois unités PLL (20, 22, 24), le moyen de commande (12) convenant pour commander les trois unités PLL (20, 22, 24) pour essayer de se verrouiller sur trois fréquences différentes caractéristiques pour un disque optique (26). Le procédé selon l'invention comporte une étape consistant à commander au moins trois unités PLL (20, 22, 24) pour essayer de se verrouiller sur trois fréquences différentes caractéristiques pour un disque optique (26). Si le disque optique (26) est un disque Blue Ray, les trois fréquences différentes peuvent être la fréquence HFM, la fréquence d'oscillation, et la fréquence HF attendue.
