Transparent composite material photoluminescing at 1.54 µm, comprising a silica matrix doped with erbium oxide in a percentage by weight of between 0.01 and 5%, characterized in that it comprises silicon carbide nanocrystals of dimensions smaller than 25 nanometres in a percentage of up to 15% by weight.

La présente invention concerne un matériau composite transparent photoluminescent à 1,54 µm, qui comprend une matrice de silice dopée à l'oxyde d’erbium en un pourcentage en poids compris entre 0,01 et 5 %, ledit matériau étant caractérisé en ce qu'il comprend des nanocristaux de carbure de silicium de dimensions inférieures à 25 nanomètres à une teneur inférieure ou égale à 15 % en poids.
