The invention relates to a surface seal (1) for sealing a riveted and/or screwed joint (20, 27) between a first and a second component (8, 10) of an aircraft, wherein the surface seal (1) is arranged in the region of joining surfaces (7, 11) of the first and the second component (8, 10). According to the invention, the surface seal (1) is formed with a pressure-resistant plastic film (2) that is provided with a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer (3, 4) on both sides. Due to the presence of the pressure-resistant plastic film (2), any displacement of the surface seal (1) in the region of the bore is largely prevented during the final production step (tightening) of a rivet and/or screw joint and fretting corrosion, that can lead to premature fatigue cracks in the joint (20, 27), between the components (8, 10) is avoided. The surface seal (1) may furthermore comprise elements for detecting cracks. The invention also relates to a method for producing a riveted and/or screwed joint (20, 27) between a first and a second component (8, 10) of an aircraft, with the joint (20, 27) being sealed, in particular, with the inventive surface seal (1).

L’invention concerne un joint étanche de surface (1) servant à assurer l’étanchéité d’un assemblage riveté et/ou vissé (20, 27) entre des premier et deuxième composants (8, 10) d’un aéronef, le joint étanche de surface (1) étant disposé dans la région des surfaces de raccord (7, 11) des premier et deuxième composants (8, 10). Selon l’invention, le joint étanche de surface (1) est formé d’un film plastique (2) résistant à la pression dont les deux côtés sont pourvus d’une couche adhésive (3, 4) sensible à la pression. La présence du film plastique (2) résistant à la pression empêche sensiblement tout déplacement du joint étanche de surface (1) au voisinage de l’alésage lors de l’étape finale de fabrication (serrage) d’un ensemble riveté et/ou vissé et permet de prévenir la corrosion par frottement susceptible d’occasionner des fissures prématurées dues à la fatigue dans l’assemblage (20, 27), entre les composants (8, 10). Le joint étanche de surface (1) peut en outre comporter des éléments de détection de fissures. L’invention concerne également un procédé de fabrication d’un assemblage riveté et/ou vissé (20, 27) entre des premier et deuxième composants (8, 10) d’un aéronef, l’assemblage (20, 27) étant, en particulier, rendu étanche à l’aide du joint étanche de surface (1) de l’invention.
