Title (EN) METHOD AND DEVICE FOR TREATING SLEEP APNEA
(FR) MÉTHODE ET APPAREIL POUR TRAITER L’APNÉE DU SOMMEIL
Abstract: front page image
(EN)An improved treatment of obstructive sleep apnea is disclosed. A method and various device combinations are presented. The device combinations describe optimal adjustments to properly position a nasal pillow in each of a patient's nares. A novel swivel joint is described to which a nasal pillow is slip-fit over. The swivel joint prevents loss of a proper seal between the nasal pillow and nare which may otherwise occur as a result of head movement. Also presented is an improved obturator mouthpiece design which substantially eliminates air flow through the oral cavity resulting from leakage in the oropharynx.
