(EN)A device for manipulating particles present in a fluid medium is disclosed. The device comprises a planar substrate, formed with at least one primary microchannel to allow passage of the fluid medium therethrough. The primary microchannel(s) has walls and a base and being in fluid communication with a plurality of secondary microchannels via at least one branching point. The device further comprises one or more ultrasound transmission pairs, positioned at opposite sides of the walls to generate ultrasound waves propagating through the fluid medium, substantially parallel to the planar substrate, such as to form a standing wave within the primary microchannel.
(FR)L'invention concerne un dispositif destiné à manipuler des particules contenues dans un milieu fluidique. Ce dispositif comprend un substrat plane constitué d'au moins un microcanal permettant le passage d'un milieu fluidique. Le ou les microcanaux primaires présentent des parois et une base, et sont en communication fluidique avec une pluralité de microcanaux secondaires par au moins un point de ramification. Ce dispositif comprend également au moins une paire d'émetteurs d'ultrasons, placés sur les côtés opposés des parois, pour générer des ondes ultrasonores se propageant à travers le milieu fluidique, de manière sensiblement parallèle au substrat plane, pour former une onde stationnaire à l'intérieur du microcanal primaire.
