(EN) The disclosed embodiments relate to a system (52) and method (160) that enhance contrast ratio of a display device (20) using asymmetrically delayed illumination signal control. An exemplary embodiment comprises determining (164) a pixel brightness level for a video frame, and delaying (166) application of the illumination signal based on a change of the pixel brightness level.
(FR) Sous différentes variantes, l'invention concerne un système (52) et un procédé (160) qui permettent d'améliorer le rapport de contraste d'un dispositif d'affichage (20) en utilisant un contrôle de signal d'éclairage par retard asymétrique. A titre d'exemple, on décrit une variante qui consiste à déterminer (164) un niveau de luminosité de pixel pour une image vidéo, et à retarder (166) l'application du signal d'éclairage sur la base d'une modification du niveau de luminosité de pixel.
