(EN)(+)-Sitophilure, the aggregation pheromone of the pests rice weevil and maize weevil, is synthesized in high yield and diestereomeric excess by contacting 4-methyl-3,5heptadione with a reduced nicotinamide cofactor and a ketoreductase enzyme capable of catalyzing the reduction of 4-methyl-3,5-heptadione to produce (4R, 5S)-5-hydroxy-4-methyl-3-heptanone to the substantial exclusion of other diastereomers.
(FR)L’invention a trait à la synthèse de la (+)-sitophilure, la phéromone d’agrégation du charançon du riz et du charançon du maïs, considérées comme des vermines. Ledit composé est synthétisé avec un rendement élevé et en excès diastéréoisomérique en mettant en contact de la 4-méthyl-3,5-heptadione avec un cofacteur de nicotinamide réduit et une cétoréductase capable de catalyser la réduction de la 4-méthyl-3,5-heptadione afin de produire de la (4R, 5S)-5-hydroxy-4-méthyl-3-heptanone en excluant de façon importante les autres diastéréoisomères.
