Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate mitigating a hidden node condition in a wireless mesh network wherein nodes utilize a request-to-send/clear-to- send (RTS/CTS) protocol in conjunction with an asynchronous hybrid automatic repeat request protocol. For instanse, a node may contend for a set of subcarriers by sending an RTS signal over the desired subcarriers, and may receive a CTS signal over the contended subcarriers. wherein the CTS signal indicates which subcarriers the node may transmit data over. If another node has won the contention for a particular subcarrier, requesting node may adjust a power level at which it transmits an RTS or a data packet in order to permit the requesting node to utilize the subcarrier without interfering with the winning node.

L'invention porte sur des systèmes et des méthodologies atténuant l'état d'un noeud caché dans un réseau maillé sans fil où les noeuds utilisent un protocole RTS/CTS (demande d'émission/voie libre) associé à un protocole asynchrone hybride de demande de répétition automatique. Par exemple, un noeud peut entrer en conflit pour un ensemble de sous-porteuses en envoyant un signal RTS via les sous-porteuses désirées, et en recevant un signal CTS via les sous-porteuses objet de la contention, le signal CTS indiquant les sous-porteuses utilisables pour la transmission. Si un autre noeud l'emporte pour obtenir une sous-porteuses donnée, le noeud demandeur peut ajuster le niveau de puissance auquel il transmet un RTS ou un paquet de données pour lui permettre d'utiliser la sous-porteuses sans interférer avec le noeud vainqueur.
