Provided is an optical head by which influence of interference due to reflection light from a non-reproducing layer of a multilayer optical disc can be reduced and excellent servo signal and a reproduction signal can be obtained. The optical head is provided with a first optical system which collects light from a light source to a first recording layer or a second recording layer; a second optical system which receives and transmits reflection light reflected by the first recording layer when light is being collected to the first recording layer and stray light reflected by the second recording layer; a light receiving element; and an operating section. Each light receiving region of the light receiving element outputs a signal corresponding to a quantity of light entered through the second optical system. The reflection light and the stray light entered the second optical system interfere with each other, and first and second light receiving region groups of the light receiving element are arranged to be uniformly influenced by light quantity fluctuation caused by the interference. The operating section performs differential operation to the sum of the first signal group outputted from the first light receiving region group and the sum of the second signal group outputted from the second light receiving region group, and a focus error signal is generated.

La présente invention concerne une tête optique qui réduit l'impact des interférences causées par la lumière de réflexion émanant de la couche de non-reproduction d'un disque optique multicouche et d'obtenir un signal d'asservissement excellent et un signal de reproduction. La tête optique comprend : un premier système optique qui recueille et dirige la lumière d'une source lumineuse sur une première ou une seconde couche d'enregistrement ; un second système optique qui reçoit et transmet la lumière de réflexion réfléchie par la première couche d'enregistrement lorsque la lumière est dirigée sur cette première couche d'enregistrement ainsi que la lumière parasite réfléchie par la seconde couche d'enregistrement ; un élément récepteur de lumière ; une unité fonctionnelle. Chaque zone réceptrice de lumière de l'élément récepteur de lumière produit un signal correspondant à une quantité de lumière provenant du second système optique. La lumière de réflexion et la lumière parasite provenant du second système optique interfèrent entre elles ; le premier et le second groupes de zones réceptrices de lumière de l'élément récepteur de lumière sont disposés de sorte à subir uniformément l'impact des variations de la quantité de lumière dues à l'interférence. L'unité fonctionnelle opère un traitement différentiel sur la somme du premier groupe de signaux produits par le premier groupe de zones réceptrices de lumière et la somme du second groupe de signaux produits par le second groupe de zones réceptrices de lumière, puis un signal d'erreur de focalisation est généré.
