Disclosed is a method and circuit for stabilizing unintentional motion within an image sequence generated by an image capturing device (102). The image sequence is formed from a temporal sequence of frames, each frame (202) having an area and an outer boundary. The images are two dimensional arrays of pixels. The area of the frames is divided into a foreground area portion (204) and background area portion (206). From the background area portion of the frames, a background pixel domain is selected for evaluation (404). The background pixel domain is used to generate an evaluation (406), for subsequent stabilization processing (408), calculated between corresponding pairs of a sub-sequence of select frames.

L'invention concerne un procédé et un circuit de stabilisation d'un mouvement involontaire dans une séquence d'images généré par un dispositif de saisie d'images (102). La séquence d'images est formée à partir d'une séquence temporelle de trames, chaque trame (202) présentant une aire et une limite extérieure. Les images sont deux réseaux dimensionnels de pixels. L'aire des trames est divisée en une portion d'aire avant-plan (204) et en une portion d'aire arrière-plan (206). A partir de la portion d'aire arrière-plan des trames, un domaine de pixels arrière-plan est sélectionné pour l'évaluation (404). Le domaine de pixels arrière plan est utilisé pour générer une évaluation (406), pour le traitement de stabilisation subséquent (408), calculé entre des paires correspondantes d'une sous-séquence de trames sélectionnées.
