Automatic mechanical transmission system (10) for a vehicle with antilock braking (42) which is configured to selectively decouple the drive train of the vehicle from the wheels (60) of the vehicle. The system includes a first sensor (33, 35, 39) for sensing at least one operational state of the vehicle, a second sensor (54) for sensing a wheel-lock up condition of the vehicle, and a logic control unit (72, 70, 56). The logic control unit is configured to receive signals from the first and second sensors. When the first sensor communicates a first predetermined operational state of the vehicle and the second sensor communicates a wheel-lockup condition, the logic unit directs disengagement of the drive train from the wheels. Alternatively, when a second predetermined operational state of the vehicle and wheel lock-up condition is communicated, the logic control unit directs engagement of the drive train and the wheels.

L'invention concerne un système de transmission mécanique automatique (10) destiné à un véhicule équipé de freins antiblocage (42) conçus pour découpler sélectivement la transmission des roues (60) du véhicule. Le système comporte un premier capteur (33, 35, 39) qui détecte au moins un état de fonctionnement du véhicule, un second capteur (54) qui détecte une situation de blocage des roues du véhicule, et une unité de commande logique (72, 70, 56). Ladite unité de commande logique est conçue pour recevoir des signaux provenant des premier et second capteurs. Lorsque le premier capteur communique un premier état de fonctionnement prédéterminé du véhicule et le second capteur communique une situation de blocage des roues, l'unité de commande ordonne un débrayage de la transmission des roues. Autre variante, lorsqu'un second état de fonctionnement prédéterminé du véhicule et la situation de blocage des roues sont communiqués, l'unité de commande logique ordonne l'embrayage de la transmission et des roues.
