Method for adapting an automated transmission (20) of a heavy vehicle in consideration of a speed sensitive PTO (30, 31). The method selects appropriate gears based on the constraint that the engaged PTO should remain below a set speed limit. The information about the speed limit of the PTO is used by the transmission control unit to ensure that the engine does not drive the PTO at a speed higher than the given speed limit. The engine speed may also be limited to reduce the engine speed to prevent it from exceeding the allowable PTO speed.

L'invention porte sur un procédé permettant d'adapter une transmission automatisée (20) de poids lourd compte tenu d'une prise de mouvement sensible à la vitesse (30, 31). Le procédé consiste à sélectionner des rapports de vitesse appropriés en prenant en considération le fait que la prise de mouvement utilisée doit rester en-dessous d'une limite de vitesse établie. L'unité de commande de la transmission utilise les informations relatives à la limite de vitesse de la prise de mouvement pour s'assurer que le moteur n'entraîne pas la prise de mouvement à une vitesse plus élevée que la limite de vitesse donnée. Il est également possible de limiter la vitesse du moteur pour en réduire la vitesse, de manière à l'empêcher de dépasser la vitesse de prise de mouvement acceptable.
