(EN)Methods for promoting osteogenesis to accelerate or enhance bone fracture healing, treat bone defects, and enhance bone formation are disclosed. The methods modulate an arachidonic acid metabolic or signaling pathway in general, and, in particular, utilize 5- lipoxygenase inhibitors. These molecules can be delivered alone or in combination with one or more agents that inhibit bone resorption, regulate calcium resorption from bone, enhance bone accumulation, enhance bone formation, induce bone formation, impair growth of microorganisms, reduce inflammation, and/or reduce pain.
(FR)L'invention concerne des méthodes d'activation de l'ostéogénèse destinées à: accélérer ou améliorer la guérison d'une fracture osseuse; traiter des déformations osseuses; et améliorer la formation osseuse. Les méthodes de l'invention permettent de moduler une voie métabolique ou de signalisation de l'acide arachidonique, en général, et d'utiliser des inhibiteurs de la 5-lipoxygénase, en particulier.
