(EN)A method and apparatus that applies a predetermined force function to the surface of a test subject with a probe and measures the displacement of the probe as a function of applied force facilitates measurement of tissue properties accurately and quickly, in vivo, in a non-invasive manner. A haptic device may be used to apply the force function to the test subject according to a preprogrammed force function and to measure the resulting tissue displacement.
(FR)L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil permettant d'appliquer une fonction de force prédéterminée sur la surface d'un sujet d'essai à l'aide d'une sonde et de mesurer le déplacement de cette sonde sous forme d'une fonction de force appliquée, qui facilite la mesure in vivo de propriétés tissulaires de manière précise, rapide et non invasive. On peut utiliser un dispositif haptique pour appliquer la fonction de force au sujet d'essai selon une fonction de force préprogrammée et pour mesurer le déplacement tissulaire résultant.
