(EN)A method of removing SO2 from a flue gas stream including SO2 includes providing a source of trona and injecting the trona into the flue gas stream. The temperature of the flue gas is between about 600° F and about 900° F. The trona is maintained in contact with the flue gas for a time sufficient to react a portion of the trona with a portion of the SO2 to reduce the concentration of the SO2 in the flue gas stream.
(FR)L’invention concerne un procédé d’élimination de SO2 dans un flux de gaz de combustion renfermant du SO2, comprenant l’utilisation d’une source de trona, et l'injection du trona dans ledit flux de gaz de combustion. La température des gaz de combustion est comprise entre environ 600 °F et environ 900 °F. Le trona est maintenu au contact des gaz de combustion pendant une durée suffisante pour qu’une partie du trona réagisse avec une partie du SO2, de manière à réduire la concentration en SO2 dans le flux de gaz de combustion.
