Abstract:
(EN) This invention provides a polarizing plate, which can suppress a humidity-derived variation in color as observed from a direction oblique to a VA-mode liquid crystal display device, and a liquid crystal display device and a process for producing a hydrophilic polymer film. The polarizing plate comprises, as a polarizing plate protective film, a hydrophilic polymer film having an in-plane orientation property. The polarizing plate is characterized in that the polarizing plate per se has a transmittance of not less than 40% at 590 nm in an environment of 23ºC and 55%RH, the crossed Nicol transmittance T2 under conditions of 23ºC and 55%RH is not more than 0.03%, and the change in transmittance &Dgr;T2 upon a change at 23ºC in relative humidity from 20%RH to 80%RH satisfies a relationship represented by formula 0.05 × T2 < &Dgr;T2 < 0.9 × T2.
(FR) La présente invention concerne une plaque de polarisation permettant de supprimer une variation due à l’humidité dans la couleur observée depuis une direction d’un dispositif d’affichage à cristaux liquides en mode VA, et un dispositif d’affichage à cristaux liquides, et un procédé de production d’une pellicule polymère hydrophile. La plaque de polarisation comprend, comme pellicule protectrice de la plaque de polarisation, une pellicule polymère hydrophile présentant une propriété d’orientation dans le plan. La plaque de polarisation est caractérisée en ce que la plaque de polarisation en soi présente un facteur de transmission supérieur ou égal à 40% à 590 nm dans un environnement de 23°C et 55%RH, le facteur de transmission Nicol croisé T2 dans des conditions de 23°C et 55%RH étant inférieur ou égal à 0,03%, et le changement de facteur de transmission &Dgr;T2 lors d'un changement à 23°C dans une humidité relative de 20%RH à 80%RH satisfait la relation représentée par la formule 0,05 × T2 < &Dgr;T2 < 0,9 × T2.
(JA)  本発明は、VAモードの液晶表示装置の斜め方向から観察した時の色味の湿度変動が抑えられた偏光板及び液晶表示装置と親水性ポリマーフィルムの製造方法を提供する。この 偏光板は、面内に配向性を持った親水性ポリマーフィルムを偏光板保護フィルムとして有する偏光板であって、23°C、55%RHの環境で、590nmにおける単体透過率が40%以上であり、23°C、55%RHにおけるクロスニコルの透過率T2が0.03%以下であり、23°Cで相対湿度20%RHから80%RHまで変化した時の透過率変化ΔT2が0.05×T2<ΔT2<0.9×T2の関係にあることを特徴とする。
