Abstract:
(EN) A compact polarisation selection device (99, 100, 300, 350, 500, 550) for all kind of laser beam applications is proposed. The device (99, 100, 300, 350, 500, 550) comprises at least two components (60, 70), the first component (60) having a surface (80), which is at least partly making an angle of substantially &thetas;B,i or substantially - &thetas;B,i with respect to the first direction of the incident beam and the second component having a surface being complementary thereto. &thetas;B,i thereby is the internal Brewster angle. As the first component (60) and the second component (70) are adapted to be offset from each other such that light leaving the surface (80) of said first component (60) is at least partly coupled into the second component (70) via said complementary shaped surface (74), selection of a polarisation component of the incident light beam is obtained. In case the surfaces are at least partly cylindrical symmetrical, at least partly radial polarised light components are obtained. The polarisation selection device can be used intracavity or extracavity.
(FR) L'invention concerne un dispositif sélecteur de polarisation compact (99, 100, 300, 350, 500, 550) pour tous types d'applications à faisceau laser. Ce dispositif comprend au moins deux composants (60, 70). Le premier composant (60) comporte une surface (80) faisant au moins partiellement un angle de sensiblement ?B,i ou de sensiblement - ?B,i par rapport à la première direction du rayon incident et le second composant présente une surface complémentaire de la première. Il en résulte que ?B,i est l'angle de Brewster interne. Comme le premier composant (60) et le second composant (70) sont conçus pour être déportés l'un par rapport à l'autre afin que la lumière quittant la surface (80) du premier composant (60) soit au moins couplée dans le second composant (70) via la surface de forme complémentaire (74), il est possible de sélectionner un composant de polarisation du faisceau de lumière incidente. Au cas où les surfaces sont au moins cylindriques et symétriques, on dispose de composants lumineux à polarisation au moins partiellement radiale. Le dispositif de sélection de polarisation peut s'utiliser en intracavité ou en extracavité.
