Abstract:
(DE) Stickoxid-Speicherkatalysatoren werden zur Entfernung der im mageren Abgas von sogenannten Magermotoren enthaltenen Stickoxide verwendet. Dabei beruht die Reinigungswirkung darauf, daß in einer mageren Betriebsphase des Motors die Stickoxide vom Speichermaterial des Speicherkatalysators in Form von Nitraten gespeichert werden und in einer darauffolgenden fetten Betriebsphase des Motors die zuvor gebildeten Nitrate zersetzt und die wieder freiwerdenden Stickoxide mit den reduzierenden Abgasanteilen am Speicherkatalysator zu Stickstoff, Kohlendioxid und Wasser umgesetzt werden. Speicherkatalysatoren werden durch hohe Temperaturen thermisch gealtert. Die Alterung beruht auf einer Sinterung der katalytisch aktiven Edelmetallkomponenten des Katalysators und auf einer Bildung von Verbindungen der Speicherkomponenten mit den Trägermaterialien. Gemäß der Erfindung kann die Verbindungsbildung der Speichermaterialien durch Behandeln des Speichermaterials mit einer Stickstoffdioxid und/oder Kohlendioxid und Wasserdampf enthaltenden Gasmischung bei Temperaturen zwischen 300 und 500 °C weitgehend wieder rückgängig gemacht werden. Die Reaktivierung kann direkt am Fahrzeug durch Einstellen geeigneter Abgasbedingungen vorgenommen werden oder im Rahmen einer routinemäßigen Wartung durch Ausbau des Katalysators und Behandeln mit einer Gasmischung in einer entsprechenden Apparatur erfolgen.
(EN) Nitrogen oxide storage catalytic converters are used for eliminating the nitrogen oxides contained in the lean exhaust gas of lean-running engines. The purifying effect is obtained by the fact that the nitrogen oxides are stored in the form of nitrates by the storage material of the storage catalytic converter in a lean operating phase of the engine while said nitrates are decomposed and the released nitrogen oxides are reacted to nitrogen, carbon dioxide, and water with the reducing exhaust gas concentrations on the storage catalytic converter in a subsequent rich operating phase. Storage catalytic converters age thermally as a result of elevated temperatures as the catalytically active precious metal components of the catalytic converter sinter and the storage components bond with the carrier materials. According to the invention, the formation of bonds by the storage materials can be largely reversed by treating the storage material with a gas mixture containing nitrogen oxide and/or carbon dioxide and steam at temperatures ranging between 300 and 500 °C. The reactivation process can take place directly on the vehicle by adjusting adequate exhaust gas conditions or can be performed during routine maintenance by dismounting the catalytic converter and treating the same with a gas mixture in an appropriate apparatus.
(FR) Selon l'invention, des catalyseurs de stockage d'oxyde d'azote vieillis thermiquement sont utilisés pour éliminer les oxydes d'azote contenus dans les gaz d'échappement pauvres de moteurs à mélange pauvre. L'action de purification repose sur le stockage, au cours d'une phase de fonctionnement à mélange pauvre du moteur, des oxydes d'azote par la matière de stockage du catalyseur de stockage, sous la forme de nitrates, et la décomposition, au cours d'une phase de fonctionnement à mélange riche suivante du moteur, des nitrates préalablement formés, et la conversion des oxydes d'azote à nouveau libres, avec des proportions de gaz d'échappement réduites au niveau du catalyseur de stockage, en azote, dioxyde de carbone et eau. Des catalyseurs de stockage sont vieillis thermiquement à des températures élevées. Le vieillissement repose sur un frittage des composantes de métaux précieux catalytiquement actives du catalyseur, et la formation de composés des composantes de stockage avec les matières de support. Selon l'invention, la formation des composés des matières de stockage peut dans une large mesure être annulée par traitement de la matière de stockage avec un mélange gazeux contenant du dioxyde d'azote et/ou du dioxyde de carbone et de la vapeur d'eau, à des températures comprises entre 300 et 500 °C. La réactivation peut être réalisée directement sur le véhicule par réglage de conditions d'échappement appropriées, ou dans le cadre d'un entretien routinier par démontage du catalyseur et traitement d'un mélange gazeux dans un appareil correspondant.
