Abstract:
(EN) This invention relates to a blade pitch control mechanism and in particular to a blade pitch control mechanism for a turbine. The invention has been developed primarily for controlling the pitch of a plurality of blades of a turbine in an ocean wave energy extracting system. According to one aspect of the present invention provides a blade pitch control mechanism (1) for a turbine rotor (3) in an ocean wave energy extracting system, the mechanism including a gear assembly (5) mountable to a hub (7) of the rotor (3) for engaging a plurality of blades (9) rotatably mounted to the hub (7). Driving means (11) is operatively connected to the gear assembly (5) for rotating the gear assembly about an axis of the rotor (3), such that the driving means (11) rotates the gear assembly (5) at substantially the same speed as the rotational speed of the rotor (3) to fix the position of the blades (9) relative to the hub (7). The driving means (11) selectively varies the rotational speed of the gear assembly (5) relative to the rotational speed of the rotor (3), inducing rotation of the blades (9) relative to the hub (7) by the gear assembly (5), thereby adjusting the pitch of the blades (9).
(FR) La présente invention concerne un mécanisme de commande de pas et en particulier un mécanisme de commande de pas pour une turbine. L’invention a été développée dans le but principal de commander le pas d’une pluralité de pales d’une turbine dans un système d’extraction de l’énergie de la houle océanique. Conformément à un aspect de la présente invention, le mécanisme de commande de pas (1) pour un rotor de turbine (3) dans un système d’extraction de l’énergie de la houle océanique comprend un engrenage (5) pouvant être monté sur un moyeu (7) du rotor (3) pour entrer en prise avec une pluralité de pales (9) montées en rotation sur le moyeu (7). Un moyen d’entraînement (11) est relié de façon fonctionnelle à l’engrenage (5) pour entraîner en rotation l’engrenage autour d’un axe du rotor (3) de telle sorte que le moyen d’entraînement (11) entraîne en rotation l’engrenage (5) à une vitesse sensiblement identique à la vitesse de rotation du rotor (3) pour fixer la position des pales (9) par rapport au moyeu (7). Le moyen d’entraînement (11) fait varier sélectivement la vitesse de rotation de l’engrenage (5) par rapport à la vitesse de rotation du rotor (3), ce qui provoque une rotation des pales (9) par rapport au moyeu (7) par l’intermédiaire de l’engrenage (5) et permet de régler le pas des pales (9).
