Abstract:
(EN) A method is disclosed for treating gaseous effluent from a hydrocarbon pyrolysis unit to provide steam cracked tar of reduced asphaltene and toluene insolubles content. The method is suitable for preparing reduced viscosity tar useful as a fuel blending stock, or feedstock for producing carbon black, while reducing or eliminating the need for externally sourced lighter aromatics additives to meet viscosity specifications. The method comprises drawing steam cracked tar from a separation vessel, e.g., a primary fractionator or tar knock-out drum, cooling the tar, and returning it to the separation vessel to effect lower overall tar temperatures within the separation vessel, in order to reduce viscosity increasing condensation reactions. An apparatus for carrying out the method is also provided.
(FR) L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de traiter un effluent gazeux d'une unité de pyrolyse d'hydrocarbures afin de produire du goudron vapocraqué à faible taux d'asphaltène et de toluène insolubles. Le procédé convient pour la préparation d'un goudron à viscosité réduite utile en tant que charge de mélange du combustible ou que charge fraîche pour la production de noir de fumée, tout en réduisant ou en éliminant la nécessité d'additifs aromatiques légers à émission externe afin de remplir les spécifications de viscosité. Le procédé consiste à tirer le goudron vapocraqué d'une cuve de séparation, par exemple, un fractionnateur primaire ou séparateur de goudron, à refroidir le goudron et à le réinjecter dans la cuve de séparation afin d'abaisser les températures générales du goudron dans la cuve de séparation et de réduire ainsi les réactions de condensation augmentant la viscosité. L'invention concerne également un appareil permettant de mettre en oeuvre ledit procédé.
